Literary Analysis of Robert Frost’s The Road Not Taken

Robert Frost’s The Road Not Taken Analysis The poem seems to make a reader think about the decisions they make in life and the cause-n-effect behind their decisions. Initially the poem seems to have a motivational tone to it, but after reading and thinking on it, it magnifies the fear most people have when it is time to make a decision; afraid of making the wrong decision and having to live with that decision. In the first stanza, Mr. Robert Frost’s poem, â€Å"The Road Not Taken†, tells the story of a man standing at a fork in a â€Å"yellow wood†(Frost 1). This would put the reader in the mind frame of autumn. Autumn could represent the man’s the age; meaning he is at the age when people start reminiscing on their life’s past. In the second stanza, the man seems ecstatic by â€Å"having perhaps the better claim† that he chose the path less traveled by â€Å"because it was grassy and wanted wear† (Frost 7-8). However as he travels he realizes, those as for that the passing there had worn them really about the same, that the two roads are the same (Frost 9-10). It seems as if he was trying to convince himself that he had chosen the better road. In the third stanza, the man decides on a path to take with the thought that he’ll go back and walk down the other road at a later date.
